សំ យ៉ាតជាស្ត្រីវ័យ ២៨ ឆ្នាំមកពីខេត្តកណ្តាល ដែលមានរបរជាអ្នកលក់ ផលិតផលគ្រឿងសំអាងតាមប្រព័ន្ធអ៊ិនធឺណេត។ គាត់មានពិការភាពទៅ លើផ្នែកជើងទាំងពីររបស់គាត់ដែលបណ្តាលមកពីជំងឺខួរឆ្អឹងខ្នងកាលក្នុងវ័យកុមារភាពដែលបណ្តាលមកពីការចាក់វ៉ាក់សាំងសាច់ដុំនៅពេលគាត់មានអាយុ ១០ ឆ្នាំ។
ធំដឹងក្តីឡើងយ៉ាត បានចាត់ទុកបងស្រីរបស់នាងជាជនគំរូរបស់គាត់ដែល តែងតែមើលថែក្រុមគ្រួសារ។ បងស្រីរបស់នាងបានដើរតួជាម្តាយផង ជាឪពុកផង និងជាបងស្រីផង។ យ៉ាតយល់ថាបងស្រីរបស់នាងតែងតែ គាំទ្រនាង ព្រោះគាត់គឺជាសមាជិកតែម្នាក់គត់ក្នុងគ្រួសារដែលមានភាព ពិការភាព។
យ៉ាត បានឈប់រៀននៅពេលនាងមានអាយុ ១០ ឆ្នាំ ប៉ុន្តែក្រោយមកនាង ត្រឡប់មកបន្តការសិក្សារបស់នាងឡើងវិញនៅពេលនាងមានអាយុ ១៥ ឆ្នាំដោយសារអង្គការមួយនៅតាខ្មៅ។
សូមអរគុណចំពោះការគាំទ្ររបស់ពួកគេ ដែលបានធ្វើឲ្យយ៉ាតបានបញ្ចប់ ការសិក្សានៅសាកលវិទ្យាល័យជាមួយនិងបរិញ្ញាបត្រហិរញ្ញវត្ថុ។ យ៉ាងណាក៏ដោយឱកាសការងារជាច្រើនត្រូវបានគេដកចេញពីយ៉ាត ដោយសារតែពិការភាពរបស់នាង។ ទោះបីជាមានឧបសគ្គបែបនេះក្តី ក៏នាងនៅតែមានទឹកចិត្តក្រោកឈរឡើងដោយខ្លួនឯងហើយបន្តធ្វើការទៅមុខ។
“ធំដឹងក្តីឡើងដែលមានពិការភាព ខ្ញុំមានភាពសោកស្តាយណាស់ព្រោះ ខ្ញុំធ្លាប់រីករាយជាមួយមិត្តភក្តិរបស់ខ្ញុំ រត់និងលេងតាមដែលខ្ញុំអាចធ្វើបាន ប៉ុន្តែអ្វីៗត្រូវបានផ្លាស់ប្តូរ ខ្ញុំត្រូវបានមិត្តភ័ក្ត និងសហគមន៍ខ្ញុំ វាយតម្លៃ មិនល្អ ប៉ុន្តែខ្ញុំនៅតែរក្សាភាពវិជ្ជមានដែលបានជួយឲ្យខ្ញុំមកដល់ពេល នេះ។”
“ខ្ញុំសង្ឃឹមថាអ្នករាល់គ្នានឹងគាំទ្រនិងបន្តផ្តល់ឱកាសសម្រាប់ស្ត្រីដែលមានពិការភាពទំាងឡាយដូចជាខ្ញុំព្រោះវាធ្វើឲ្យយើងមានសេចក្តីរំភើបនិងមានអារម្មណ៍ដែលទទួលបានការរួមបញ្ចូលយើងកំពុងតែទទួលបានក្នុងនាមជាមនុស្សរស់នៅក្នុងសង្គមនេះ។”
Som Yat
Som Yat is a 28 year-old woman from Kandal province who sells cosmetic products online. She has a lower limb
impairment stemming from childhood polio, caused by a muscle vaccination when she was 10. Growing up, Yat looked up to her older sister as she took care of their family: all at once, she played the role of a mother, father, and sister.
Yat feels that her older sister always looked after their whole family, and especially supported Yat as she was the only member of the family with an impairment. Som Yat had to leave school when she was 10 years old, but then was able to resume her education when she was 15 thanks to an organization in Takmao.
Thanks to their support, Yat graduated university with a finance degree. However, several job opportunities have been taken away from Yat due to her impairment. Despite these barriers, she stays motivated, stands up for herself and keeps on working.
“Growing up with disability, I felt very regret because I use to enjoy with my friends, run and play as much as I could but things change, I was bullied by my friends and community but I kept on the positivity which help me to being her today.”
ឌុច ឧស្សា
ឌុច ឧស្សា នាងមានអាយុ ២៥ ឆ្នាំហើយជាគ្រូបង្រៀននៅអង្គការក្រៅរដ្ឋាភិបាល មួយនៅក្នុងទីក្រុងភ្នំពេញ។ កាលពីអាយុ ៦ ឆ្នាំ ឧស្សាត្រូវបានជួបគ្រោះថ្នាក់ ចរាចរណ៍ដោយម៉ូតូបានបុក។ ម្តាយរបស់នាងបាននាំនាងទៅកាន់មន្ទីរពេទ្យដើម្បី ព្យាបាលរបួសបន្ទាប់ពីជួបឧប្បត្តិហេតុ ដោយឡែក ឧស្សាមិនបានទទួលការផ្តល់ ការព្យាបាលត្រឹមត្រូវដោយហេតុបណ្តាលឲ្យនាងកាន់តែខ្សោយទៅពីមួយថ្ងៃទៅ មួយថ្ងៃ។
របួសនេះបានបណ្តាលឲ្យនាងមានការចុះខ្សោយលើរាង្គកាយរបស់នាងទាំងមូល។ ឧស្សា មានអារម្មណ៍ថានាងត្រូវបានឃ្លាតឆ្ងាយពីសង្គម។ នាងបានទទួលរង ការ រើសអើងកាលនៅជាកុមារនៅក្នុងសាលារៀន ហើយតែងតែត្រូវបានគេវាយតម្លៃ មិនល្អនៅក្នុងសហគមន៍របស់នាងជារឿយៗ។
ទោះយ៉ាងណាក្តី នេះមិនបានបញ្ឈប់នាង ពីការខិតខំព្យាយាមរាល់ថ្ងៃនោះទេ។ នាងបានបញ្ចប់ការសិក្សានៅសាកលវិទ្យាល័យភូមិន្ទភ្នំពេញនិងទទួលបានសញ្ញា បត្រអក្សរសាស្ត្រខ្មែរ។ បន្ទាប់ពីបានទទួលតំណែងជាគ្រូបង្រៀនមួយរូប នាងក៏មាន ក្តីស្រមៃក្នុងការប្រឡងចូលជាគ្រូក្នុងក្របខណ្ឌរដ្ឋមួយរូប។
“ខ្ញុំតែងប្រាប់ខ្លួនឯងពីមួយថ្ងៃទៅមួយថ្ងៃថា ខ្ញុំត្រូវតែចូលរួមនៅក្នុងឱកាសសង្គម នានាឲ្យបានច្រើនទៀត សម្រាប់ឲ្យខ្ញុំអាចចែករំលែករឿងរ៉ាវនិងគំនិតរបស់ខ្ញុំ ដើម្បីឲ្យពួកគាត់បាស្តាប់នឹងមិនមើលស្រាលមកកាន់ខ្ញុំ។”
“ សូមបញ្ឈប់ការសម្លុតឬរើសអើងមកកាន់ពួកយើង គ្រប់ទីកន្លែងដែលជួបពួក យើង។ យើងក៏មានជីវិតដើម្បីបន្តទៅមុខនិងរីកចម្រើន! ដូច្នេះហើយ ពួកយើង ត្រូវតែរឹងមាំហើយមិនត្រូវបោះបង់ឡើយ! “
Duch Ouksa
This is Duch Ouksa, she is 25 years old and teaches at an NGO in Phnom Penh. At the age of 6, Ouksa was in a motorbike accident. Her mother brought her to the hospital for her to be looked after following the accident, however, Ouksa wasn’t given the right treatment and got weaker and weaker everyday.
This led to a lower and upper limb impairment. Ouksa feels she is set aside and excluded from society. She suffered from discrimination as a child in school and has always been discriminated by her community. However, this doesn’t stop her from working hard everyday. She graduated from the Royal University of Phnom Penh and obtained a degree in Khmer literature. She then obtained a position as a teacher, and is hoping to fulfil her lifelong dream of becoming a certified professor.
“I tell myself day to day that I need to participate in more social opportunities so I can share my stories and thoughts so other can hear my it and don’t underestimate it.”
“Please stop bully or discriminate us when you see us anywhere. We do have life to keep going and growing! So for us, we have to be strong and don’t ever give up!”
“It’s on us to keep going, our family and friends would only be here temporary to give support to us but only ourself thatshould always remember to dig down our own dream and turn it into real life.”

ជួបជាមួយ សារ៉េ នាងមានអាយុ ២៨ ឆ្នាំហើយបច្ចុប្បន្នកំពុងធ្វើការនៅក្នុង អង្គការក្រៅរដ្ឋាភិបាលមួយ។ ពាក់កណ្តាលដៃស្តាំរបស់នាងបានពិការតាំង តែពីកំណើត។ សារ៉េបានចាកចេញពីស្រុកកំណើតគឺខេត្តកំពង់ឆ្នាំងដើម្បី បន្តការសិក្សានិងទទួលបានបរិញ្ញាបត្រសាកលវិទ្យាល័យនៅឯទីក្រុងភ្នំ ពេញ។ សព្វថ្ងៃនាងស្នាក់នៅជាមួយមិត្តម្នាក់នៅក្នុងបន្ទប់ជួល ដើម្បីបន្តក្តី សុបិន្តរបស់នាង។
នាងបានដឹងរួចមកហើយថានាងនឹងត្រូវប្រឈមមុខនឹងការរើសអើង ប៉ុន្តែ នេះមិនបានបញ្ឈប់នាងពីការឆ្ពោះទៅកាន់ក្តីស្រមៃនិងរក្សាផ្នត់គំនិតវិជ្ជ មានមកកាន់ខ្លួនឯងនោះទេ។
ទោះជាយ៉ាងណាឱកាសការងារជាច្រើនត្រូវបានគេដកចេញពីសារ៉េ ដោយ សារតែភាពពិការរបស់នាង តែនាងនៅតែសង្ឃឹមថា និយោជិកនឹងផ្តោតទៅ លើជំនាញរបស់នាងនិងមិនមែនលើរូបរាងរបស់នាង។ ដោយឡែក នាង នៅតែមានសង្ឃឹមហើយនិយាយថានាង សូម្បីតែពេញមួយជីវិតរបស់នាង ព្រោះនាងជឿជាក់ថាការប្តេជ្ញាចិត្តរបស់នាងនឹងនាំឱ្យនាងទទួលបានភាពជោគជ័យ។
“ភាពអត់ធ្មត់គឺជារឿងសំខាន់បំផុតក្នុងជីវិតខ្ញុំ។ វាបាននាំខ្ញុំឲ្យក្លាយទៅជាមនុស្សម្នាក់នៅថ្ងៃនេះ ដែលខ្ញុំអាចធ្វើអ្វីដែលខ្ញុំស្រលាញ់ច្រើនជាងអ្វីដែលអ្នកដ៏ទៃចង់បាន។”
“វាស្ថិតទៅលើពួកយើងទេក្នុងការបន្តដំណើរទៅមុខដោយខ្លួនឯងព្រោះ ក្រុមគ្រួសារនិងមិត្តភក្តិរបស់យើងនឹងជួយលើកទឹកចិត្តយើងបណ្តោះ អាសន្នប៉ុណ្ណោះ ប៉ុន្តែខ្លួនយើងទេដែលគួរតែចងចាំជានិច្ចក្នុងការជីក តាមរកក្តី សុបិន្តរបស់យើង ហើយប្រែក្លាយវាឲ្យទៅជាជីវិតពិត។
Phon Sare
Meet Sare, she is 28 years old and currently works in an NGO. Sare was born with half of her right hand. She left her hometown, Kampong Chhnang, to pursue her studies and obtain a university degree in Phnom Penh.
She is still living there with a friend in a rented room to keep pursuing her dream. She always knew she would have to face discrimination, but this hasn’t stopped her to reach for the stars and keep a positive mindset.
However, a lot of job opportunities have been taken away from Sare due to her impairment, she had hoped employers would focus on her skills and not on her appearance. She still stays hopeful and says she will be throughout her whole life as she believes her determination will lead her to success.
“Patience is the most important thing in my life. It brought me to be who I am today where I could do what I love more than what other want me too.”
