ហ៊ុយ សូវៀតជាសហគ្រិនម្នាក់ដែលមានអាយុ ៣៣ឆ្នាំមកពីខេត្តសៀមរាប។ បច្ចុប្បន្ននាងប្រកបរបរជាអ្នកកាត់ដេរនិងរស់នៅ ជាមួយប្តី និងកូនរបស់នាងនៅក្នុងផ្ទះជួលមួយកន្លែង។ នាងមានពិការភាព នៅជើងខាងឆ្វេងរបស់នាង ដែលបណ្តាលមកពីជំងឺប៉ូលីយ៉ូតាំង ពីកុមារ ភាព។ នាងបានចំណាយពេលក្នុងជីវិតរបស់នាងក្នុងការប្រយុទ្ធប្រឆាំង ដើម្បីលុបបំបាត់ការរើសអើងដល់ជនដែលមានពិការភាព។
សូវៀត តែងតែខិតខំធ្វើការដើម្បីថែរក្សាសុខភាពផ្លូវចិត្តរបស់នាងឲ្យមាន ភាពរឹងមាំនៅក្នុងសង្គមដែលមានផ្នត់គំនិតតូចចង្អៀត។ ដឹងក្តីឡើងនាង បានជួបឧបសគ្គជាច្រើន សម្បីតែគ្រួសាររបស់នាងក៏មិនបានគាំទ្រដល់ រូបនាងដែរ។ ជនដែលមានគំរូភាពដ៏ល្អនៅក្នុងជីវិតនាងគឺជាម្តាយក្មេក របស់នាង ដោយសារតែគាត់ព្រមទទួលនិងស្រឡាញ់ សូវៀតចំពោះអ្វី ដែលនាងមាន មិនមែនរូបរាងរបស់នាង។
“ សូមបញ្ឈប់ការរើសអើងមកកាន់ពួកខ្ញុំ! ពួកខ្ញុំមិនមែនកើតមកជាមួយ បេះដូងថ្មទេ ពួកខ្ញុំក៏មានអារម្មណ៍ប៉ះទង្គិចនៅពេលអ្នកមើលស្រាលមក ពួកខ្ញុំ។ ចំពោះអ្នកដែលកំពុងរស់នៅជាមួយពិការភាព សូមបន្តទៅមុខ ទៀតកុំបោះបង់ដោយសារតែពាក្យសំដីដែលអ្នកដទៃនិយាយមកកាន់អ្នក។ អ្នកមានសិទ្ធិទំាងមូលក្នុងការរស់នៅ!”
Huy Sovait
Huy Sovait is a 33 year-old entrepreneur from Siem Reap. She is currently working as a tailor and lives with her husband and her child in a rented house.
She has a left leg impairment stemming from childhood polio. She has been fighting against discrimination her whole life. Sovait works hard to maintain her mental health and stay strong in a closed-mindset society.
Growing up, she has faced many obstacles, as her family didn’t support her. Her role model in life is her mother-in-law because she accepts and loves Sovait for who she is, not how she is.

ប៊ិស គន្ធាមានអាយុ ៣២ ឆ្នាំនិងរស់នៅខេត្តសៀមរាបជាមួយប្អូនស្រីរបស់នាង។ គន្ធាបានជួបគ្រោះថ្នាក់ចរាចរណ៍នៅពេលនាងកំពុងជិះម៉ូតូ។ បន្ទាប់ពីឧប្បត្តិវ ហេតុនេះ នាងកាន់តែខ្សោយទៅខ្សោយទៅជាងមុនជារៀងរាល់ថ្ងៃហើយទីបំផុត នាងក៏មិនអាចដើរបាន។
គន្ធាជឿជាក់ថាបញ្ហាលុយគឺជាកត្តាពិបាកបំផុតក្នុងជីវិតរបស់នាង។ ម្តាយរបស់នាង បានទទួលមរណភាពមុនពេលគ្រោះថ្នាក់របស់នាងហើយឪពុករបស់នាងក៏បាន ចាកចេញពីក្រុមគ្រួសាររបស់នាងដើម្បីរៀបការជាមួយប្រពន្ធថ្មីទៀត ដូច្នេះនាង ត្រូវរកប្រាក់ដើម្បីផ្គត់ផ្គង់ប្អូនស្រីនិងខ្លួននាងផ្ទាល់។
ក្នុងនាមជាអ្នកប្រើប្រាស់រទេះ ជនពិការមួយរូប វិស័យការងារនិងការធ្វើដំណើរគឺជា បញ្ហាប្រឈមធំបំផុតសម្រាប់នាង។ ដើម្បីយកឈ្នះបញ្ហាទាំងនេះ នាងបានសំរេច ចិត្តទៅកាន់មជ្ឈមណ្ឌលស្តារ នីតិសម្បទារយៈពេលមួយឆ្នាំ។ គន្ធាបានមើលឃើញ ការវិវឌ្ឍនគួរឱ្យកត់សម្គាល់ និងភាពរឹងមាំសម្រាប់ប្អូនស្រីនាងនិងខ្លួននាងផ្ទាល់។ នាងនិយាយថា នៅពេល មានឧបសគ្គរាល់ថ្ងៃកាន់តែលំបាក នាងតែងតែព្យាយាម រក្សាភាពវិជ្ជមានហើយ បន្តទៅមុខទៀត។ នាងចាត់ទុកឆន្ទៈរបស់នាងក្នុងការរស់ នៅជាសមិទ្ធិផល ដ៏អស្ចារ្យបំផុតនៅក្នុងជីវិតនាង។
“ ត្រូវជឿជាក់លើខ្លួនឯង។ អ្នកគឺជាបុគ្គលដ៏សំខាន់បំផុតដែលនឹងអមដំណើរផ្លូវ ជីវិតមួយនេះរហូត។ សូមចងចាំថាអ្នកមិនមែនជាមនុស្សតែម្នាក់គត់ដែលរស់នៅ ជាមួយពិការភាពនោះទេ”
Bis Kunthea
Bis Kunthea is 32 years old and lives in Siem Reap province with her younger sister. Bis Kunthea got into an accident as she was riding on a motorbike. Following the accident, she got weaker and weaker each day and eventually was unable to walk.
Kunthea believes that money is the most difficult factor in her life. Her mother passed away before her accident and her father left her family to remarry, so she needed to earn money to support her sister and herself. As a wheelchair user, working and getting around are the biggest challenges she faces.
To overcome these barriers, she decided to go to a physical rehabilitation center for a year. Kunthea made significant progress and stayed strong for her sister and herself.
She says it is a daily struggle not to break down when things get hard, she tries to stay positive and keeps going. She considers her willingness to stay alive to be one of her greatest accomplishments in life.
“Keep believe in yourself. You are the most important individual that will keep you accompanied for the rest of your life. Remember you’re not the only one who lives with disability”
“You always have a new day ahead of you, don’t place your hand and beg other for money because you can earn it yourself. Doing it yourself would make you stronger. Beggars aren’t bad but it is not the end of the world as long as you can breathe and keep going.”

នេះជារឿងរ៉ាវរបស់ រស់ សុធន់ ដែលមានអាយុជាង ៣៣ ឆ្នាំសព្វថ្ងៃមាន មុខរបរជាកម្មការនីកាត់ដេរមួយរូបនៅសៀមរាប។ សុធន់ មានពិការភាព ទៅលើជើងខាងស្តាំតំាងពីកុមារភាព។
នាងចំណាយពេលស្ទើរតែពេញមួយជីវិតរបស់នាងដើម្បីធ្វើការ ដើម្បីឲ្យ នាងអាចមានហិរញ្ញវត្ថុគ្រប់គ្រាន់ក្នុងការផ្គត់ផ្គង់ទៅលើការវះកាត់របស់នាង។
កាលពីប៉ុន្មានឆ្នាំមុននាងបានទទួលការវះកាត់ចំនួនពីរលើកនៅលើជើងរបស់នាងដែលបង្ហាញលទ្ធផលវិជ្ជមាន។ សុធន់ ធំឡើងដោយយកលោក ឪពុកអ្នកម្តាយរបស់នាងជាជនគំរូសម្រាប់នាង។ ឪពុកម្តាយរបស់នាងបាន បង្រៀននាងឲ្យចេះទទួលយកការលំបាកៗ ហើយកុំបន្ទោសរឿងលំបាក ទាំងនោះ។
“ខ្ញុំជានរណា នៅឯណាពេលនេះ គឺជាសមិទ្ធិផលដ៏ធំបំផុតរបស់ខ្ញុំ។ ខ្ញុំអាច មិនមែនជាអ្នកមានផ្ទះប្រណិត ឬឡានទំនើប ប៉ុន្តែខ្ញុំមានបេះដូងដែល សម្រាប់ផ្តល់ក្តីស្រឡាញ់ទៅកាន់លោកឪពុកអ្នកម្តាយ ប្តីនិងកូនរបស់ខ្ញុំ។ ពីព្រោះជីវិត វាមិនដែលមានភាពងាយស្រួលសម្រាប់ខ្ញុំទេ… ”
“អ្នកតែងតែមានថ្ងៃថ្មីនៅខាងមុខអ្នក សូមកុំលើកដៃអ្នក សុំទានអ្នកដ៏ទៃ អីព្រោះអ្នកអាចរកប្រាក់បានដោយខ្លួនឯង។ រកប្រាក់បានដោយខ្លួនឯង នឹងធ្វើឱ្យអ្នកកាន់តែរឹងមាំ។ អ្នកសុំទានមិនអាក្រក់ទេ ប៉ុន្តែវាមិនមែនជាទី បញ្ចប់ នៃពិភពលោកទេ ដរាបណាអ្នកអាចដកដង្ហើមនិងបន្តទៅ មុខបាន។”
Rous Sothun
This is the story of Rous Sothun, a 33 year-old garment factory worker in Siem Reap. Sothun has a right leg impairment stemming from childhood polio.
She spent most of her life working so she could have sufficient means to finance her surgeries. A few years ago she got two surgeries done on her leg which showed positive results.
Sothun grew up admiring her parents, they became her role models as they taught her acceptance as well as not to blame each other when things get hard.
“Who I am and where I am now is also my biggest accomplishment. I may not be rich, have a fancy house or luxurious car but I have the heart to love my parents, husband, and my child. Because life hasn’t been easy for me …..”
